Music Tuesdays

Tuesdays are my least favorite day of the work week.  They always seem to drag, and the weekend still feels so far away.

How was everyone's Thanksgiving?!
Unfortunately I did not take pictures, but I can say we had a wonderful Thanksgiving, followed by a relaxing couple of days with family.
It was so nice to be in town, and not have anything to do.  It made the break feel longer than usual.

I did not adventure myself in the crazy Black Friday early crowds, but I did manage to go to Target, and get a couple of DVDs.
I was able to get all six seasons of Sex and the City for $7.99 each.
What a steal!
We also got the second season of Modern Family.

And....and iPad 2!

Better late than never, right!?

We had been talking about getting rid off one of our laptops and replace it with an iPad.
Because anything Apple is just cool.  And since we are stuck with t-mobile for another year, we can't get iPhones yet.

Let me just tell you that the iPad is probably one of the coolest thing I've ever owned.
I can't stop playing with it.
I told Michael we needed to support Steve Jobs's legacy in one of my many convincing arguments.
Legit, right?!
Either way, we got it, and I love it!

Now onto this week's choice for Music Tuesday.

I didn't even have to think about this one, because I woke with the song stuck in my head.

The song is called Welcome Home, by Radical Face.
I first heard in on a Nikon commercial. Not the Ashton Kutcher ones, but while streaming the French radio at work.
This is the type of song that immediately puts me in a good mood as soon as I hear it.
I hope you like it!

Let me know what you think!

Have a great Tuesday, blogger friends :)

Thanksgiving Thankfulness

I've only been celebrating Thanksgiving for a few years, but  it has become one of my most favorite holidays.
Maybe it is because it falls during my favorite season/time of year.
Or maybe it is because I just love any excuse to get everyone together.

Growing up in France, I never really knew what Thanksgiving was, or what it meant.
My side of the family gets together for a big dinner, but I don't think it means as much as it does to people who were born and raised in America.

So when I go to Michael's parents, I still feel like I am watching and all-American movie.
His mom goes all out with the Fall decorations, and the food is always amazing.
I love the couple of days off work, and how everyone just seems to be in the best mood.
It's the best way to kick off the Holidays if you ask me.

I don't really enjoy going shopping, and getting into the madness of black Friday.
But, my yearly guilty pleasure is to go to Target, and shop for DVDs.
Yes, I like collecting DVDs.
And at $5 and $10 for new releases, and TV shows box sets, I just cannot resist!

So in all my Thanksgiving thankfulness, here are the things I am thankful for:

the important things:
-the most beautiful wedding a girl could ask for, shared with the most amazing husband, Michael.
-good health, a good job, food on the table, and a roof over our heads.
-my wonderful parents who no matter what gets in their way, always seem to stay positive, and to keep me grounded.
-my brothers David and Kevin, and my niece and nephews, Sara, Jake and Davis.
-my new in-laws, as well as Michael's brothers and their wives.  there are not enough words to express how thankful I am for being a part of their family.
-great friends who made our wedding the most memorable day of our lives.
-my French family who traveled all the way from Paris to be a part of our big day.
-Michael's mother who went above and beyond with our wedding decorations.
-Betsy and Allison - the best Matrons of Honor a bride could ever ask for.
-my awesome bridesmaids, because I would not have made it through the wedding day without them.
-my Dad's beautiful speech at our wedding.
-my Mom recovering from her knee accident, and her walking again.

the every day life things (in no particular order):
-unlimited music on spotify.
-all the amazing gifts we received for our wedding, especially our kitchenaid!
-becoming a better cook for my husband.
-green tea.
-starbucks holiday drinks, and their cute red cups.
-my friend Amber, and our unconditional love for lazy days.
-facebook/twitter/blogspot.
-silly girly tv shows.
-my kindle.
-Fall season, and being able to wear boots and scarves everyday.
-thinking about getting a house next year.
-living 1.7 miles from work, and not having to worry about traffic - ever.
-Leo, James, Peanut and Jiggy (one day, I will explain).
-college football Saturdays.
-Falcons football.

I could probably write a novel just listing what I am thankful for this year, but I would say this sums up 2011 nicely.

I hope you all have a wonderful Thanksgiving indulging in good foods, family time, and if you're from the South, college football of course :)

HAPPY THANKSGIVING!!!!!

Music Tuesdays

In the spirit of getting back to 'normal', I figured I would re-instate the Music Tuesday posts.

It's been quite a while since the last, and I have come across a lot of good stuff.

I have to admit that even though Spotify has been my main source for new music lately, I actually discovered this band through the new abc show 'Revenge'.

Do you remember the Summer previews for the show?
There was a song played in the background, from a band called 'Angus & Julia Stone'.
They are brother and sister, from down under Australia.

The song is not new, but it's new to me nonetheless.
Their album is great, and I have listened to the whole thing on repeat a couple of times at work.
I love her voice, their lyrics, and their unique sound.

Unfortunately I could not find a video for the song, but here is the album version.

Bachelorette week-end in Hilton Head

I promised you a Bachelorette week-end post, so here it is!

I know I'm a little late posting these pictures, but now that all our wedding festivities are over (sigh), I promised myself I would be a better, and more consistant blogger :)

It's not easy being a blogger when you have a full-time job, and you have officially become a full-time wife.
I'm a little worried as to how I will juggle it all once we have children.
But one thing at a time!

I really wanted to go to the beach for my Bachelorette Party, so my hubby's uncle and aunt offered us their house in Hilton Head.  It is a short distance to the beach, and close to all the fun restaurants and bars.
How perfect?!

Not everyone was available to come that weekend, but the six of us decided to make the best of it.
And that, we did!

I think the pictures will speak for themselves.

I'm pretty sure you are wondering if this is a Bachelorette party, or your typical college night out!?
Well, let's just say that some of us don't really go out anymore, especially when it's all of us girls.
So I think we were overly-excited about our night out.
And I think we totally made the best of it!

I just wish I had more picture of us at the beach, and actually acting like the ladies we all are.
Hopefully one of my bridesmaids will post hers on Facebook so I can steal them!

It was a memorable weekend nonetheless.
And my bridesmaids were the best a bride could ask for.
Seriously.

Fill in the Blank Friday

Hi friends!

How are we doing on this beautiful Fall Friday?!  I understand that it might colder (or warmer) in your neck of the woods.
But down here in Atlanta, we have an amazing cool and sunny Fall day ahead.
My favorite!

I've been really busy with work, and settling into our new married life.
No one warned me about post-wedding blues, and it's definitely been an adjustment!

We've also spent time unpacking all our amazing gifts, and trying to find space in our apartment to store everything.
Needless to say, we were not really successful.  So the guest room will remain as the "wedding room" until we can figure out a better way to organize everything.
Or until we get a house.
We've had the house bug for a couple of weeks now.  And I think we've agreed that we are going to look into it at the beginning of 2012.
New project?!  Yes please!

I'm looking forward to this weekend, as it is our last GA State tailgate of the year (sadness).
All good things come to an end, right?!
Oh well.  It's the Holiday season, and that alone is enough for me!

Here are your Fill in the Blank Friday, courtesy of Lauren of course!!!
PS. I am loving the picture she chose today.

1.   A nervous habit I have is  cracking my fingers, my neck, my back - you name it.  I know it is horrible for me, and I try to control it.  But there are times when I just can't resist! Most people hate it, but lucky for me, my husband is just as obsessed as I am with cracking things!

2.   Something that makes me sad is people who take their families, and friends for granted.  I understand that we are all very busy with our lives, but we shouldn't let it come in the way of spending time, or even just making a phone call, to our close ones.

3.  Today I am thankful for  my sweet husband who told me that he couldn't wait to "get me a house" last night.  seriously - he is a amazing.

4. My favorite room in my house is  our living room.  I love lazy days with Michael when we are just laying around bundled up on the couch, and watching sports, or our favorite shows.  Plus it's really cozy, and pretty.  I love love our little apartment :)

5.  I can't stand waking up early in the morning.  I live for those last couple of minutes before I have to get up.  I swear 2 extra minutes make a difference!

6.  If I had an extra $100 to spend on whatever I wanted today I would  probably put it towards getting my car fixed.  I need new break pads, and I swear, I hate spending money on car maintenance - so boring!!!  If I didn't have this to take care of, I would probably get a new pair of Tory Burch ballerinas!

7.  The last person I hung out with was  my mom and brother last night after I got off work. I am lucky enough to live 1.7 miles for my work, which is also the halfway point between our apartment and my parent's house.  I love being able to go over there whenever I want.  I could never live far away from my family.

I hope you all have an amazing weekend!!
It's the last Fall weekend before Winter - brrrr!!!!

Fill in the Blank Friday

Happy Friday!
See?  I told you things were getting back to normal.
What is everyone up to this weekend?

My weekend is going to be filled with lots of College football on Saturday, hanging out with family and friends, Falcons game on Sunday, and organizing my closet.
I'm excited for a normal Fall weekend!

Here are your Fill in the Blank Friday, courtesy of Lauren as usual :)

1.   My favorite thing about this week was/is  that Michael and I finally had our first meal at home as a married couple! We got to use all our new kitchen stuff, and it makes cooking so much more fun!

2.   Colder weather makes me happy! I am not a fan of Summer time at all.  Don't get me wrong, I don't like the freezing cold weather either - but I will take a high of 45/50 and sunny every day!

3.  Three things that make me terribly happy as of late are  my husband (eeee), and all the awesome gifts we received for our wedding! We were truly spoiled rotten!

4. If I could only wear one kind of shoe for the rest of my life, I'd choose   black Tory Burch ballerinas!

5.  My personality type is   type A all the way!  There is no relaxing for this girl unless everything is clean, organized, and having the feeling that I did everything on my to-do list for the day.

6.  I have a serious problem resisting   ANY type of sweets - it's really bad!

7.  My favorite color to wear is  black and gray.

Have a FABULOUS weekend!!!

Getting Back To Normal

It is not as easy as I thought it would be.
I'm not going to lie - I have major post-wedding depression.

Don't get me wrong, we had a FABULOUS wedding, and our Honeymoon was perfect.
And now I have this huge void because I don't have a million to-do lists to worry about!

Our wedding weekend was beyond everything I expected.
I mean it.

I am still waiting for the professional pictures, because talking about will not do it justice!
Until then, I wanted to give you a sneak peak.

More to come!!

It's good to be back, blogger friends!!!
