Fill in the Blank Friday

Happy Friday Friends!!!

It's been a while since I've been here, but in my defense, we are a month away from the wedding, and my life has been complete madness!
Between taking care of my mom, work, and making sure we have everything ready for the big day, I feel like I've lived the last couple of days on auto pilot.
There are a lot of little things left to do, and my to-do list seems like it is never ending.
But - we are getting there, and I could not be more excited.
I can't wait to marry my best friend :)

I owe you a Bachelorette weekend/party post, and don't you worry I have not forgotten.
I just haven't gotten around to upload all my pictures yet.

I hope you enjoy this week's Fill in the Blank Friday, courtesy of Lauren at the Little Things We Do!

1.   The best thing I did all week was crossing things off my wedding countdown to-do list: wedding bands and finishing up our pre-marital counseling (which by the way, was amazing.  I am SO glad we go to do this)

2.   Rainy weekend with nothing to do  make me super happy.

3.  Pets are the sweetest thing. They are warm and soft, and the best cuddle buddies!

4.  My Fiance Michael  is the best thing about my life.

5.  With the cooler weather I am looking forward to  wearing leggings, boots and scarves, drinking hot tea, and pumpkin spice candles!

6.  Something that's on my "wish list" right now is  an iPad.  I want one so so so bad, yet I have not come up with a good enough excuse for Michael to agree to it.

7.  This weekend I am going to  actually be able to stay at home and relax with Michael. On our list: College Football, laying around the apt, and maybe, just maybe we will get to some wedding stuff.  We have not had a weekend together is so long!

Have a fabulous weekend ladies!!!

Quick Update

Hello blog word, it's been a while.

The last week has been hectic to say the least.  My mom had knee surgery last Friday, and I spent the entire weekend with her, taking care of her, the house, and making sure she had everything she needed.

Between the month-end close at work, taking care of my mom, and trying to finish up the wedding planning, and the overall stress of everything - I feel drained.
Which is why this coming weekend could not come at a better time.
I am going to Hilton Head Island for my Bachelorette party!!!
I am counting down the hours until we leave tomorrow, for four days of girl fun, bliss, and beach time!

We are a little less than 6 weeks away from the wedding, and I still have a lot to finish up - favors, programs and out of town guest bags.

I am not too worried, I know it will come together perfectly.  To be honest, I just hope that my mom feels better by then, and that she can stand up, and slow dance with me at my wedding.

I promise better posts, and more pictures next week! Until then, here is a pic of two of my favorite people!

I hope you all have a great week!!!

Holiday Weekend Recap

Labor Day has come and gone, and it is time to focus on Fall friends!
How was everyone's holiday weekend?!

We had quite the eventful weekend in Atlanta.
The Georgia State Panthers opened their season with a 41-7 win (yay), and one of the most fun tailgates we've ever had!
I may have had a little too much fun tailgating - which might not have been a good idea considering I was fighting the flu.

Saturday I woke up feeling pretty rough from the night before, and honestly thought I was going to spend the first official Saturday of football curled up in a blanket on the couch.

But, after two hours of College Game Day, I told Michael I was ready to re-group, and wanted to go tailgate with all our friends for the UGA/Boise State game at the GA Dome.
I'm so glad I did.

Even though I was exhausted, and sick from the flu, I made it through 6 hours of hanging out with our friends, eating good tailgate foods, and managed to drink water the entire time!  Who said you can't tailgate sober?!

I wish I had taken more pictures of the weekend, but all I have are the few that I managed to snap with my phone, so I apologize in advance for the not so great quality.

Sunday came, and we had a drastic change of weather down here in Atlanta.  We went from hot, sunny and humid, to chilly and rainy.  I have to say that I am welcoming the cold front.  Atlanta has been in the upper 90s since the middle on May.

~~~~~~~~~~~
My sweet Mama slipped and broke her knee cap Sunday morning.  Her phone call was one of the scariest I've ever gotten.  She was in tears, and screaming from the pain.  My dad was out running his Sunday morning 15 miles, and we had no way of getting in touch with him.
I rushed over their house, called an ambulance, and 20 minutes later, I was sitting in the ER with her, and her broken knee. They took two X-rays, and came back to tell us that the knee cap was broken, and she needed surgery.
It was scary, and overwhelming.
You never really know how you are going to react in these types of situations, and as much as I want to say that I kept it together - I broke down.
A part of me felt selfish because one of my first thoughts were "my wedding is in 7 weeks, and she won't be able to dance on my wedding day."  It broke my heart to think about the most important day of my life, and not knowing if my mom would be able to walk around, and enjoy herself.
It was a freak accident, and unfortunately, these things happen.  I am so thankful that it was only a knee, and that she will fully recover from this.
I hope everyone had a GREAT holiday weekend :)
Fill in the Blank Friday
It is a GREAT day for some college Football!!!!
And a Happy Friday it is down here in the South (SEC football country), and a weekend kick off to the most fun time of the year!!
My team may only be one year old, and far from belonging to the SEC, but I will be cheering for GSU tonight;  proudly wearing Royal Blue and White, and screaming GO PANTHERS at the top of my lungs.  Can't. Wait.
1.   One thing that is completely superfluous, but that I could never give up is  the occasional Starbucks.  I used to go there a LOT, but due to the high calories, and the $4.25 spent every day - I stepped back. It makes it that much better when I do go, especially during the Holidays!
2.   People who make out in public  makes me feel awkward.
3.  I can't  go one day  without,  talking to my mom on the phone.
4.  Hummus  is my favorite snack.
5.  Lately I've been  trying to stay calm, and keep myself together for our upcoming wedding in October!
6.  If at first you don't succeed, take a step back , re-group, and try again!
7.  Fall is  my favorite season/time of the year. It makes me happy, and there are so many fun things to do in so little time. I can't wait!!!
HAVE A GREAT HOLIDAY WEEKEND!!!
Happy September
Hello Blog Friends, how are we doing!?
It's been kind of a long/slow week - you know, those weeks that just seem to never end?
I can't wait for Friday (half day!), and a nice long holiday weekend!
Goodbye Summer, August, and HAPPY September!
This weekend kicks off the long awaited college Football season, and that makes me so happy!  We are SO close to Fall, to pumpkin spice candles, to the good holiday food, new TV shows/seasons, and most importantly - some cool weather down here in the South!
Can you tell I am excited for Fall!?
Tomorrow is the GSU kick off football game at the Georgia dome.  Yes, our team is only a year old, so we share the dome with the Atlanta Falcons, which I think is pretty awesome.
this will be us tomorrow for the first GSU tailgate of the season!
Again, FALL is just around the corner!!!
Michael and I were in Michaels (funny!) a few weeks ago, and they already had their Fall decorations set up.  It smells like Pumpkin in there, and I was in heaven.  Michael said it was way too early for pumpkins.  I beg to differ!
You know what else is exciting?!  The season premiere of the Rachel Zoe Project next Tuesday!
I cannot wait to see her walking around pregnant with her Starbucks in one hand, and holding her belly with the other - DIE!
Rachel Zoe is my favorite, and her show always airs in the Fall, so I end up associating her with my favorite time of the year - and for that, I love her even more!
Until next week, I'm leaving you with Mrs. Zoe, and her take on the upcoming season.
