Happy Friday - It's time for your Fill in the Blank!

Here we go again lovelies! Courtesy of Lauren at The Little Things We Do

1.   If I could get away somewhere for the weekend I would go  to Paris, because the French open is going on, and it is one of my absolute favorites - and I would bring   Michael.  We have not been to France together yet, and I can't wait to show him around where I grew up, and all of my favorite places!

2.  Something I often rant about is   people who are ungrateful, who judge, who act like they are better than you - and don't even realize it.  It really gets to me how some people can make you feel so small without even knowing it.  I know - I am probably wrong for letting them get to me in the first place - but still!  Oh an another thing I can talk about for hours: technology, and how it is turning kids into technology obsessed/driven people who can't think for themselves anymore, and don't realize how much they are missing out!  I loved growing up in the 90's - can you tell!?

3.  One item I need to have in my fridge at all time is  hmmm this one varies - but definitely some type of cheese; hummus or coffee creamer.

4.  My "life-saving" product is  the Living Proof hair care line from Sephora.  It has helped my hair become a lot more frizz free - and straight.  Believe me, we need it down here in the South!

5.  A friend is someone who  loves you no matter what?  Who listens to you, laughs with you, cries with you, acts stupid with you, supports you, tells you the truth (even when you don't want to hear it), and who, no matter what, NEVER judges you.

6.  If I could write my own blank it would be: If you could be honest with someone, about anything, what would you say, and who would you say it to?

7.  My favorite kind of art is  I am not sure that I have a favorite kind of art.  I don't think I am that knowledgeable to make such a statement - but if I had to pick, I would say photography. I can't really go into details of what type and all, because frankly, I just don't know enough about it.

I hope you all have a fabulous Memorial Day Weekend!!!

Pssst

Guess what!? I have a new design! Thank you Lauren at Blue Lux for such a cute design!! I love it!!!

In other really cool news, my older brother and his wife welcomed their new baby on Monday.  He is the most precious little boy, and I love him so much already.  I just want to spend all my time with this little guy!

Sara - the very proud big sister :)

I mean, how adorable is my little nephew? His name is Jacob Aiden, and I believe we will call him Jake - for now at least.

Baby fever?  You bet - and it is slowly but surely sneaking up on me.  Between Michael's new nephew Davis, and now Jake, I can honestly say that I can't wait to have one of my own.

I know - I have to focus on the wedding right now.  But being 27 going on 28, I can't help but thinking that it should be soon than later.  I feel as a woman, this is completely normal thoughts, and a part of me always wonders "what if it doesn't happen right away" - you know?

Ahhh for now, I will enjoy this little guy, and get some practice until my time comes!

M & J

Here they are!!! Our loooooong awaited engagement pictures! I say long, because it took us forever to actually schedule, and take these.

I want to say that we were nervous - but the real reason is I felt like I needed to lost weight - so there, you have it!

These are a few of my favorites.  As you can tell, I went a little photo-edit crazy - I couldn't help it - too much fun!

What do you think?!  I told you before - I do not think of myself as the most photogenic person, but I am very pleased with these.  High five to our photographer for putting up with me :)

They're Back!

That's right - Fill in the Bank Fridays are back!  Ahh it has been a while, and I have missed it!

As always, these are courtesy of Lauren at The Little Things We Do

1.   People always tell me I look like  hmm should I be offended that no one ever tells me that I look like anyone in particular?!  A long time ago in high school, some people used to say I looked like Jessica Alba (hmmm I wish!?)

2.  Friends don't let friends wear clothes that make them look fat, cut their hair too short because they know you will regret it, feel like they are lonely, feel like they are not good enough.

3.  A sunny day is perfect for  a nice walk in the park with M bug, or a fun day at the pool with Summer drinks, and good friends.

4.  My favorite accessory is my engagement ring?  OK...aside from that, my two gold bracelets that I never take off.  They were from my grandmother, and every girl in my family wears them.

5.  If I could afford it I would  take a month off to go visit my family in France, and backpack around Europe with Michael.

6.  The cure for boredom is  the internet?! I don't think I can get bored readings blogs.  However, it is always nice to find an outdoor patio and relax with some drinks.  (hmm drinks, again - I swear I am not an alcoholic)

7.  I am currently "in like" with  the fact that our wedding is only five months away, which means that 1) I will be married to my best friend; 2) We are going back to Mexico for our Honeymoon!

HAVE A GREAT WEEKEND LOVELIES!!!!!!!

Zadig et Voltaire

Have you ever heard of the French brand Zadig et Voltaire?

The brand became popular a few years before I moved to the United States (wow - 11 years ago already), and I remember back then thinking that I would never be able to afford such a brand.

Well guess what?  Eleven years later, and I still can't afford it!  Hah OK - let me re-phrase that: technically, I could afford it, but I just haven't let myself pull the trigger yet.

The only Z&V item I have ever owned was a t-shirt my cousin gave me.  Mind you, it was used - so, I'm pretty sure she simply didn't like it anymore.  I felt so special.

For some reason, I am on their mailing list, so when I get emails titled BLOW OUT SALE, of course, I rush to the site, only to find out that even their "sales" are still expensive - what a shame!

In due time ladies - I will shop there, and get WHATEVER I want.

That's why I became an Accountant, OK?  No, not necessarily to have a good retirement, provide for my family, or even have a good career.  I did it for the clothes, the shoes and the purses - there, I said it!  Ok, maybe this isn't entirely true - but maybe...just a little :)

Oh well.  I am still going to share with you a few things I am drooling over today.

Those are just a few things - seriously - check out their website.
It is a little different than your every day clothes - but I love how unique some of the pieces are.

Oh and if you ever go to Paris, you will know what I mean.  They have stores ALL over the city.

Yet again, another reason why I love Paris: the fashion.  Ahhh, I miss my home.

Grand Slam

Since I started my new job in midtown Atlanta, I have become addicted to a little juice place called Arden's Garden.

Let me start off by saying that this place isn't your traditional smoothie shop, where most of the smoothies are loaded with sugar, powders and frozen fruits.

This is an all natural, fresh fruits and vegetables juice place, with some of the best smoothies I have ever had.

I started off by going to get a smoothie once or twice a week, to trying to prevent myself from going everyday.  Let's face it, I know "eating" juices every day isn't the best thing for you, so I try to limit myself to three times a week.

However, while I was getting my smoothie last week, the guy suggested I try their infamous Grand Slam

A combination of four concentrates from Wheat Grass, Ginger Root, Lemon, and Cranberry juices.  They are basically 1 ounce shots that you take in the order listen above.

Each shot has its own benefit, and combined together, take make you feel AMAZING.  It almost feels like an instant cleansing - and I like knowing that I am treating by body to something so healthy.

The wheat grass alone has the nutrients equivalent to 5lbs of greens - FIVE POUNDS! How can you not feel great?!

I am officially hooked.  It is 100% more powerful than my daily multivitamin - and the process is a lot of fun!

I see people (just like me) walking in the store in business clothes, on their lunch breaks, simply to get the Grand Slam - I am telling you - it's addicting!  I like to combine it with a smoothie, or a light lunch (more than likely a salad).

No worries, I have not become an all natural foods/juice obsessed vegan.  I just feel like with all the stress, and the not so great eating I put my body through sometimes - I can take the time to treat it to some goodness.

Oh - Hey!

Phew – here I am – back on blogger.

I swear I haven’t just purposely quit on my blog, but I have to say that the last couple of months have been so busy that I decided to take a short break.  I did not want to post just for the sake of posting – and feel like I was forcing myself to write about something.

We have had quite the busy couple of months:  Michael’s brother’s wedding,  a new baby, another baby arriving any day now, and of course, my new job!

Most of my weekends were filled with bridal or baby showers, preparations for Betsy’s wedding (which turned out amazing), and the arrival of Michael’s (and mine!) first nephew Davis!  It’s amazing what a new a life, a new baby, brings to a family.  He is not even a month yet, and I feel like he has always been here.  He is the sweetest, most perfect little boy, and I am completely in love with the little guy.

I mean, look at this little face!

 Simply perfect.

I can't believe Betsy and David's wedding was over a month ago already - where does the time go??

Betsy did an amazing job coming up with beautiful and unique ideas for their big day.  We had such a blast, and I loved every moment of it. I am so happy for them - they are going to have a wonderful life together :)

It was great because it was also a preview of what Michael and I's wedding will be like, since we will probably have 50% of the people attend our wedding as well.  I'm not gonna lie - I thought we looked cute together as well :)

I am getting more and more excited about our big day.  I can't believe it is only 5 months away.  Needless to say, I feel like there is still so much to be done.

We took our engagement pictures yesterday, finally.  We chose Atlanta's Centennial Park for the location, as Michael and I both love the city, and thought it would make for fun pictures.  We had so much fun!  I can't wait to see how they turn out - and will definitely share with you as soon as I get them.

My new job kept me so busy for the first month - and since I post a lot FROM work (I know, probably not the right thing to do - oops!), I didn't have time to get on blogger.

I love my new company - it is quite the change from Wendy's/Arby's Group.  I went from a large public company, to a smaller private one.

I used to feel so overworked, and mentally/physically exhausted all the time while working at WAG - and here I am now, working a normal 40hrs work week, constantly asking myself "where is the catch?"

When you go from large corporations to a company like this one, you realize how overrated it is to work for the "big names" out there.  I am earning more money, I have more vacations days, better benefits, and an actual work/life balance.  I may still be an accountant, but I am enjoying this new job a lot more!

I am sorry if you have felt neglected over the past couple of months.  I can tell people get tired of waiting for a post - because you start losing followers.  I completely respect, and understand that. I promise I will do better :)

Between our wedding, and all the festivities ahead, you are going to have a lot more coming your way - so be ready for an overdose of wedding related posts!

Till then, I hope you all have an amazing week :)

5.08.2011

Wow - a month without a post.  I apologize for the lack of posting ladies.

The last month has been nothing but a roller coaster of emotions, and events; and I've just been trying to take it all in.

I will be back very soon, I promise.  I have so much to share with you.  I simply need to find it in me to do so.

Talk back soon.
