Fill in the Blank Friday

Happy Friday my Ladies!
How was everyone's week??

I am finally home from Canada, and I have to say it is good to be back!
I came home to a couple of surprises from my hubby.
New chairs in our living rooms, pictures hung up on the wall, and a few deco changes in our bedroom.
Should I go away more often!?

I gotta say I was pleasantly surprised.
We had been so lazy with putting up some of our pictures.
Now our little apartment looks alive, and much more cozy.
Pictures to come soon!

1.   My favorite place i've ever traveled to is  Greece.  I went backpacking around the island of Crete when I was 15, and I had such an amazing time.  It is one of the most beautiful places I have ever seen.

2.  Australia is somewhere I'd love to go someday. My aunt lives there, and I would LOVE to go visit her someday.

4.  My three must-haves when I travel are   my ipod, snacks, and a pillow/blanket.

5.  My favorite travel companion is  my sweet, sweet husband Michael :)

6.  The craziest thing that ever happened to me while traveling is being stuck at an airport overnight with a bunch of people who had their flights canceled as well.  It was kind of fun, but very creepy at the same time!
7.  The most exotic food I've ever tried while traveling is ummm I don't really adventure myself with food.  But I've had frog legs before!

8.  If I could live anywhere else, I'd live in Paris, France. Duh!  Haha I would love to be able to take Michael and live there together for a year of two.  I miss my home.
9.  I have been to 10
states in the U.S.

Have a GREAT weekend!!!!

3.  I pass the time on a plane (or bus, or car ride or train) by  listening to music, or reading.

I'm Here!

Hey Lovelies!

I wanted to stop by and let you know that I did NOT abandoned my blog!
OR stopped reading yours.

I started my new job last Thursday, and I am currently in Canada for some training.
I've been here since Sunday night, and I am going home tomorrow.
Can I just say traveling for work is completely overrated?!
I do not like it.
I want to go home to my husband, and my normal life.
Now.
I have been staying on the Canadian side of Niagara Falls, and here is the view from my hotel!
I took those with my phone, so I apologize for the poor quality.
Very cool view nonetheless!

I promise to catch up on all your blogs when I am back!
In the meantime, I hope you are all having an amazing week!!

Raven's Tattoo Link Up

I am on day 2 of my mini-vacation before I start the new job.
And I am loving it.

Yesterday was actually productive.
I cleaned our apt, went to Macy's to get us all new bedding for the King size bed, and I worked out.
Go me - seriously!

Today is more of an at home day.
And I do not feel guilty. At all.

I am linking up with Raven at A Momma's Desires and Pacifiers
She is doing a tattoo link up, and I thought it would be fun to show mine off.

As you can see, I love tattoos on my feet.

The first tattoo is located on my top right foot reads Be The Change You Want To See.
This is one of my all time favorite sayings, and one I try to implement in my daily life.

The second one is located on the side has a personal meaning.
One dot represents my life in France; the other my life in America.
The almost infinity symbol is the journey in between.

The third tattoo is located on my top left foot, and this one reads Let It Be.
Of course, inspired by my all time favorite Beatles song.
This song is meaningful because it was the first CD my dad ever bought me.
I've associated my love for the Beatles with my dad for so many years, and I just hold it very close to my heart.
Let It Be was also our father/daughter song at the wedding.

Tattoos are such an acquired taste.
Some love them, some hate them.
I am a firm believer that tattoos should at least have a personal meaning.
I knew going into it that some of the people around me may not approve, or even like them.
But I didn't care, because they meant something to me.
Something true.

And just because it is Music Tuesday, here is one for the pleasure :)

Happy Tuesday Friends!

Reese

Happy Monday my Lovelies.
How are you doing on this Martin Luther King Holiday?
Do you have the day off? Or are you stuck at work like my poor hubby?

I am actually off work until Thursday, when I start my new job.
So I am enjoying sleeping in, catching up on blogs, and laying around on the couch in my PJs.

This past weekend was just what I needed: fun, and relaxation with my other half.
We shopped around for a new bed, and were successful in find our new mattress.
A KING size mattress - eeee!
We also had two consecutive dates nights during which we managed to drink a little too much.
And talk a lot about serious things, silly things, and a lot in between.
We watched a lot of playoffs Football, and of course, the Golden Globes.

Which leads me to my favorite red carpet pick!
She is elegant, beautiful, talented, outspoken, and funny.
To me, she is timeless, and she is by far my favorite actress in Hollywood.

Oh Reese, you never disappoint me with your red carpet appearances.

I have to admit that I've been a longtime fan of hers.
Ever since I saw her movie The Man in the Moon.
I must have been around 8/9 years old.
It was the first time I ever cried in a movie.
And not the last :)

If you haven't seen it, do yourself a favor, and watch it immediately.
But don't say I didn't warn you - you will cry. A lot.

Have a GREAT week friends!

Happy Friday Friends!

Is it just me, or did the week go by soooo slow?
I'm thinking this is because today is my last week at Wendy's.
And I've been counting down the days ever since I found out about my new job.

I have a couple of days off before I start, yay!
My plan is to get situated at home, catch up on laundry, sleeping, working out and blogging.
And most importantly RELAX.
I need to let go of this past work year, and all the ups and downs that came with it.

But for now, here are your Fill in the Bank Friday, courtesy of the pretty mama-to be Lauren

1.   The last thing I ate was  a croissant from Startbucks. Hey, it's Friday!!

2.   The last song I listened to was  a French song that just came on the French radio (Toi + Moi, by Gregoire).   I usually stream my fav French radios at work!

3.   Using the letters in my name I can spell  (July)..hmmm  I can't find anything that actually makes sense.  BUT in French, July means the month of July, or Juillet :)

4.  If I had to dress in one color for the rest of my life I would pick  hands down, gray!  I feel like I could add any kind accessories that would match the color, as well as shoes, scarves, hats, etc.  It's always been my go-to color.

5.  If you were to look in my bag right now you'd find  my wallet, sunglasses (in their case), little coach clutch (hold my makeup, girl stuff, lip balm), hand lotion, carmex, headphones, cellphone, keys, planner, usb drive, misc. mail, hand sanitizer, and a few bags of green tea.

6.  When I finish filling in the blanks I'm going to  read the blog updates from my fav bloggers, go on Pinterest, check Facebook/Twitter.  It's my last day at work, so I have nothing to do!

7.  My all time favorite song to dance to is  wow this is kind of a tough one. I don't know about my all time favorite, but I'd say Party Rock Anthem was a big hit at our wedding..and I can't resist it if it comes on the radio!

Happy Friday Loves!!!

All About My Skin

For some reason, the South has decided to skip Winter for a few more weeks.
I'm not kidding - we had to turn on the A/C last night, because it was 76 degrees in our apt.

The South is also known for its awful humidity, which has a tendency to affect my skin.
I am one of those people who has REALLY dry skin when it's dry out.
But then as soon as there is a hint of humidity out there, it's hello oily skin to the max.

It drives me nuts.
I mean, do I have dry skin? combination skin? oily?

I've used the Clinique 3-Step line for about 8 years now, and it seems to be the best for my skin.
For the lucky off days when I am in that in between dry and oily.

Except for oily days - when after one hour at work, there is a big shiny spot on my nose.
So I got the Philosphy "Never let them see you Shine" line.

Well, that was a waste, because I can guarantee you that the shine is still there, going strong, all over my nose and chin!

And don't get me started on "Hope in a Jar".

Yes, this cream is great. Sure it helps with the really dry days.
But have you SMELLED it?! what IS this smell!?
I'm not kidding, I can't take it.
Every time I put it on, it's all I can focus on.

Which leads me to a possible TMI topic: blackheads.
Gross - I know.

I was blessed with a non-acne prone skin.
I might get a pimple here and there during that sweet time of the month.
Other than that - I'm usually in the clear.
Except for my nose and chin - and the blackheads.
I HATE them. Seriously HATE them!!!

I've tried everything from the nose/chin strips, scrubs, masks - you name it.
I'm contemplating trying this baking soda/sugar/water recipe I saw on Pinterest.
But I'm a little hesitant.  Baking soda on my face just doesn't seem all that healthy.

What gets to me is that I don't wear much make-up at all.
I use Bare Minerals, and never go to sleep with makeup on.
So what gives?!

Do you have any skin tricks/suggestions that may help?

Hello my ladies!

I am finally DONE with our year-end close!
This means I finally get to catch-up on all your lovely blogs.

It's been quite an exhausting first few days of 2012.
I haven't really had time to get started on the new year.
To set resolutions, to get back on track.

I am looking forward to starting my new job next week.
It's a big promotion, in a bigger company.
AND?
I am going to Canada my first week!
I will give you more details when I start, and can talk more about it.

I am excited for a fresh start, and a great new year ahead.
I have a good feeling about this one :)

Here is my pick for Music Tuesday. I decided to go French this week.
Because I've been listening to the French radio non-stop.
Because I am home sick these days.

I've posted about him before, but as a refresher, Raphael is my favorite French artist.
I got to see him live in Paris last year - and my love for him only grew deeper!
He is handsome in that French kind of way.
His voice makes me melt.

The song is Le Vent de l'Hiver (The Winter's Wind), a personal favorite.

Below is one of my favorite pictures from his concert last year.
Oh...how I am itching for a Paris trip!

LOVE. HIM.

I hope you enjoy it :)
If not, I understand.
French music isn't for everyone.
I still love you!

I'm Alive!

Hello Ladies!

In all of the exciting world that is accounting (NOT), this year is our year-end close.
In other words, I will have no life until next Monday.

I had every intention to blog Monday night to let you all know that I would be MIA this week.
But the Gods were against me.

I sat down comfortably on our couch, wrapped up in a blanket, ready to blog.
And of course watch the season premiere of The Bachelor.
But at 7.59pm on the dot, our power went out.
True story.

I wanted to cry a little because I had been waiting for weeks to watch the premiere.
The power was out for over two hours, which means not only did I miss it.
But I had to live through all the tweets from everyone who was watching it.
It was torture!

I got to watch it last night on abc.com, and all I gotta say is WOAH.
This season looks promising, and you know I will be front and center watching/blogging about it!

Until then, please bare with my lack of posting, and I promise to be back next week!

Oh...and just so you know, I got a new job!
So this is the last time I have to worry about close week, and going MIA!

I'm pretty pumped that I get to start a new job so early in the year.
Talk about a fresh start!

Happy Hump Day!!!
